Melt Spinning

VTC500
VTC-500 is a lab-scale vacuum melt spinning system for preparing amorphous metallic ribbons. In this technique, metal ingots (<50g) are melted via the induction heating method and then propelled by over pressurizing the crucible. A thin stream of molten is then dropped onto a fast-moving surface of a scold copper drum. This causes rapid quenching & solidification of the molten and thus forms the liquid metal alloy.

VTC200S
VTC-200S is a benchtop vacuum melt spinning system for preparing amorphous metallic ribbons up to 2000ºC. In this technique, metal ingots are melted via the induction heating method and then propelled by over pressurizing the crucible. A thin stream of molten is then dropped onto a fast-spinning surface of a cold copper drum. This causes rapid quenching & solidification of the molten and thus form the ribbon (< 10 mm width) of the liquid metal alloy.

VTC-W15
VTC-W200 is an economic vacuum wire melt spinning system for the research lab to prepare amorphous metallic wire < 20-micron diameter via induction heating and rapid quenching on a specially designed spinning copper wheel.
